Frequently Asked Questions
Q. Why do you need money your just a website?
A. We are far more than just a website. Our ongoing website costs are expensive but we also spend money and time in many other areas (see below)
Q. What does the money go on?
A. Your money will be spent on a variety of things from website hosting fees to outreach programmes. CART members need materials to hand out, flyers and posters etc and these all cost money. We also have to pay for web development, when it cannot be done in-house. A very small amount of your money goes on office fees like telephone calls etc. Not one penny of your money goes to pay any CART member for their time.
Q. Why are you not a registered charity?
A. We are simply not big enough yet to apply for charitable status. It is in our three-year plan but we do not have the money needed currently to set this up.
Q. What do I get for my money?
A. Unlike some charities we do not send you out a soft teddy and adoption certificate. In fact we don’t send you anything. Sound ungrateful? We don’t think so. All those items cost us money and in turn we would be spending your money to buy them and then give the item to you. We think if you want to buy a soft teddy you will buy one yourself. What you do get is the knowledge that your money will be helping us piece together OUR history. We have already been able to inform relatives of Auxiliers that their loved ones did serve during WW2 and this has made them so very happy and proud. Your money helps us grow and develop, as well as offering a greater level of outreach and promoting an awareness of these brave men and women.
Q. Do I have to have a PayPal account?
A. Not at all. If you have a PayPal account it is quicker to set up but if not don’t worry you can set one up in less than 2 minutes.
Q. If I don’t want to pay via PayPal can I pay it directly into your CART account?
A. Yes that is no problem. Please contact us to do that.
