CART County Information Officer Nina Hannaford, has just completed her second CIO report.
It looks at the Harford Auxiliary Unit, located near Ivybridge. The report itself can only be read by CART members but we have created a web page on the Unit and the location of their suspected Operational Base here.
We have now added our three main Auxiliary Unit training manuals to Amazon.
They can be seen here
We will still go on selling them through this website as well.
Today we added the military history of Major General Sir Colin McVean Gubbins to the site.
Gubbins was the driving force behind the conception and implementation of the Auxiliary Units. He then went on to run the Special Operations Executive. (SOE)
You see his info here.
We are now selling our Weapons and Explosives DVD through Amazon.co.uk
If you have bought a copy or would like to or would like to help CART by reviewing it please see here
Today we added Major Sir Edward Beddington-Behrens to the site.
He was a on of the first Staff Officers at Coleshill and was awarded the MC twice.
See Bill Ashby’s report here
Well last night the piece that CART helped put together was aired on the Discovery History Channel.
It is a general piece on the Aux Units and features CART weapons expert Richard Ashley and Coleshill Head Warden Keith Blaxhall.
We hope it will attract more interest in the Auxiliary Units story.
It must have been popular as someone has already uploaded part of it to You Tube. You can watch it here
Today we added a page about Lt Col. ‘Billy’ Beyts to the site.
‘Billy’ had an amazing career and in 1952, it fell to him to tell Princess Elizabeth and Prince Philip that King George VI had died.
You can read all about him here
Last month we started to set up a network of CIOs (County Information Officers) around the UK in an effort to gain more research and understanding about the Auxiliary Units.
Today we published our second CIO report by Nina Hannaford (CIO for Devon) on our members only page. When these reports turn into publishable research they will appear on the website.
Our thanks to Nina for good historical digging…
