Abergavenny Museum have produced a 16 page booklet to accompany their exhibition on ‘The British Resistance In Wales’.
Reading the booklet is a good way to learn the basics about the Auxiliary units and understand more about the Welsh resistance.
A PDF (electronic version) of the booklet can now be purchased for £2 here. £1 of this goes directly back to the museum which is a charity.
Once you have bought the booklet using Paypal or any credit or debit card, you will automatically be re-directed to a page where the PDF can be downloaded.
Another great patrol report from our Norfolk and Suffolk CIO’s. This patrol is also referred to as Capel St Mary Patrol but everybody involved knew it as Wenham Patrol.
It formed part of Ipswich Group (Group No 5 Suffolk)

We have the opportunity to restore an Operational Base in Kent. Due to the nature of the work, and the fact that certain members of the public like to go and destroy these precious time capsules, the location is a closely guarded secret.
We are calling the project Operation Turnip as many of the patrols in Kent were named after vegetables.
Phil Evans, our CIO for Kent, will manage the work on the ground and CART HQ will oversea the project and fund raise.
A small team of experts will be called upon to advise on the restoration and we will use our own internal archive and researchers knowledge around the UK to fit out the OB as authentically as possible.
We hope to then open the space at certain times of the year for guided tours, press calls and to allow re-enactors to stay inside.
We suggest you bookmark this page to follow our work.
Today marks a very special day for CART.
In November 2010 CART CIO for Coleshill, Bill Ashby, a retired Halcrow Engineer teamed up with fellow CART member Ian Edwards. Bill and Ian were soon formulating a plan to digitise the little information that was then available of Coleshill House and the outbuildings.
Using historical photos and a few basic drawings they have produced a set of drawings of the house, Stable Block and Clockhouse. The intention is to create a full 3D video walk through of the exterior and interior.
Ian has also created some visualisations of the site and inside of the house using AutoCAD, Sketch-up and 3D StudioMax software.
See a video presentation of the plans and more here
We have just added a new patrol page to the site for East Yorkshire’s Bewholme Patrol.
The patrol has been researched by our CIO for Yorkshire, Andy Gwynne.
It contains various information, video and images and can be seen here
It is with great sadness that we have to report the death of another Auxilier.
Harry Banham worked in the Bath Admiralty. He was in No.4 patrol.
Harry and his son had been working with CART all the way from Canada to build a page on him for the website and they kindly provided some audio. You can see and hear this here
Auxilier Bob Millard helped Harry obtain medals and other Aux related items post war. Bob’s advice and support was invaluable to Harry.
He died peacefully in his sleep aged 96.
We Will Remember Them
Our amazing researchers around the UK have delivered again! Debenham Auxiliary Unit is the first patrol report for 2012.
