Abergavenny Museum have produced a 16 page booklet to accompany their exhibition on ‘The British Resistance In Wales’.

Reading the booklet is a good way to learn the basics about the Auxiliary units and understand more about the Welsh resistance.

A PDF (electronic version) of the booklet can now be purchased for £2 here. £1 of this goes directly back to the museum which is a charity.

Once you have bought the booklet using Paypal or any credit or debit card, you will automatically be re-directed to a page where the PDF can be downloaded.

We have recently been made aware of a possible reference to the SDS or Aux Units in Ian Fleming’s short story ‘From a View To A Kill’.

He describes Bond in a wooded area as a group of guys emerge from an underground base. The entrance hidden in a tree. He then talk about how the three men practise walking silently.

We know that Ian went to see his brother Peter at the Garth and must have learnt a fair bit about what was going on. Could he be referring to it in this book?

You can read it for yourself here. From page 22 onwards.

Please discuss this on our forum here

We Will Remember Them

You have the chance to take part in a unique event that allows you to learn more about the Auxiliary Units from the comfort of your own home.

CART is planning to hold a ‘virtual’ online conference in 2012 which will see some of the country’s leading researchers on the Auxiliary Units give talks over 12 hours.

The event will utilise simple downloadable software which will allow you to see the speaker, chat in a live chat window to them and others and view PowerPoint slides etc.

Before we can plan this event we need YOUR feedback. Please have your say about the event here
