personal-equipment-of-the-auxiliary-unitsOur researchers have now added more than 50 items to the Personal Equipment page.

The page covers the equipment generally issued to each Auxilier as well as the insignia and side arms. The information has been produced by CART CIO Bill Ashby with help from others.

It’s a really interesting pictorial guide through the vast array of kit supplied and well worth looking at.

Eric Anthony Sykes is most famous for his work with William E. Fairbairn in the development of the Fairbairn-Sykes Fighting Knife and modern British Close Quarters Battle (CQB) martial arts during World War II. The Fairbairn-Sykes knife was used by nearly every Auxilier in the UK.

Phil Matthews is a researcher into the Combative Arts and their Instructors and he firmly believe that none of the Instructors suddenly appeared out of “no-where” to serve the Allies in their time of need. He has prepared a really in-depth look at this man and has kindly shared it with us.

Our thanks go to CART member Peter Antill for supplying an article and images on the Sten, under the watchful eye of our Weapons Adviser Richard Ashley.

The article and images are really worth a read and can be seen here

It will be linked up and added to our weapons page after it’s forthcoming overhaul.
