Thanks to a huge database donation from Will Ward we have now been able to help a relative trace their father who was an Auxilier. It gave us a great buzz to find the Auxiliers name on our database and to then be able to inform the relative. We now have over 2000 names covering most of the UK and this is being added to all the time with new information and research. The database remains non broadcast as we feel we must preserve the privacy of the men who kept this a secret till the grave. If ... Continue reading ...

Many people has asked me why I am running this site and what is my goal. Firstly I want to raise awareness of the Aux Units and keep their brave training alive and in the public eye. Secondly I want to set up a local visitors centre or museum at Coleshill itself. Ideally this would be situated in the stable block, upstairs in the old WW2 admin offices. This will not happen without considerable funding and help from the National Trust....Thirdly I want to produce a series for television which ... Continue reading ...

As you may or may not know Mabel Stranks, Highworth's Post Mistress during the war, was responsible for vetting all the men that trained at Coleshill. A few years ago her family were presented with a plaque (Seen Below) by Highworth Town Council. As you can see the spelling of Auxiliary is incorrect and I have contacted the Mayor of Highworth and the Council about getting this corrected. In my view it is a dishonour to Mabel and her family as well as the Aux Unit. The Mayor has assured me it ... Continue reading ...

Hello,
As you all know this site is run without any funding. As a web designer
and working from home, I am able to do the updates and dedicate time to
it around my normal paid work.
The National Trust at Coleshill do offer guided walks around the site a
few times a year and I would like to produce a postcard sized flyer
that they can give to guests to promote our website.
I am appealing for anyone that might have connections in the printing world where we can get these printed for ... Continue reading ...

Today we filmed an interview for BBC Oxford TV Evening News. We only had two minutes to talk and condensing the history of the Aux
Units and Coleshill into that time was tough. The BBC did make some
mistakes in what they had researched but the mistakes are worth the
coverage we feel. Straight after filming the Presenter suggested we went on BBC Radio Oxford and we were taken into the radio studios. Within two minutes Tom was sat in the studio and talking to Bill Heine LIVE. The interview was a... Continue reading ...
