Thank you for selecting information on the Gamrie Auxiliary Unit Patrol and their Operational Base in Scotland. The info below has been supplied by CART's Aberdeenshire CIO, Alan Stewart.

Research into this patrol and its training is ongoing. The information below is published from various sources and is by no means conclusive. If information is not listed below it does not necessarily mean the information is not out there but normally means CART researchers have not found it yet.

If you have any information on this patrol or can help with research in this area please do contact us.

Gamrie is an area around Gardenston and Macduff to the West.  The area is a busy farming and fishing area on the Moray Coast. Gardenston has high cliffs to Macduff offering limited sea invasion options other than the harbours.

GC Lieut G.S. Fisher, Asst GC 2/Liet R Cook

Sgt A Watson, Melrose, Gamrie
Sgt? K Yorston. A Doctor from Macduff.
Pvt R Black
Pvt A Cook
Pvt P Dickson
Pvt Alex Gill. A Blacksmith, Smithy of Minnonie.
Pvt H Hutcheson
Pvt F Ritchie
Pvt F Wood

Possible area is in a small valley south of the tight road bend between Greenskares and Afforsk. A HG Ammunition Nissan hut existed in the area. As Pvt Gill stayed at Minnonie, this was at one end of the small valley.

The location of the patrol would likely to be the Bridge over the River Deveron between Macduff and Banff. Also the railway and roads around the area. Macduff, Banff and Gardenston all has small harbours

Most likely Blairmore House in Huntly.

We suspect they were issued with the standard kit.
