Guardbridge is a village in the north-east of Fife, on the east coast of Scotland. It is approximately 3 miles (5 km) north-west of St Andrews, and is situated on the estuary of the River Eden.

The Operational Base was set within a walled garden of Seggie House owned at the time by Mr G.P. Adam, Managing director of the Paper Mill nearby and a Major with the 2nd Fife Battalion HG. See more about this house here. 

The land overlooking parts of Guardbridge and is near to the main rail line and bridge that gives the location its place name.

Airfield at Leuchars and Rail lines nearby, Rail Bridge crossing the river Eden and road junctions in all directions through the north east part of the county. Priority was given to Leuchars airfield.

Carried out at Melville House where most patrols in this area trained, run by Regular Scout Section. Drumcarrow Craig at times used for demolition training. Also within the walled grounds of the House late 1940, RE Section lived in a tent while constructing the OB.
