Churchill's British Resistance - The Special Duties Branch

Hannington Hall - First HQ for the Special Duties

Hannington Hall was used by the ATS and Special Duties in 1942.

Four main people lived in the hall itself and they were Major Petherick, Captain Randall, Beatrice Temple and Barbara Culleton.

The main offices & the dinning room were down stairs and the bedrooms upstairs.

The other ATS, the cooks, clerks and despatch riders lived in an out building.

We think the signals from outstations around the UK were sent to Coleshill and were then relayed to Hannington by despatch rider or land line.
